Talks for schools
RESILIENCE CHANGE AMBIGUITY
- Are your students prepared for a ‘non-linear’ world? A world with constant change and ambiguity.
- Do they need to build resilience in advance of GCSEs, A Levels or leaving school?
- Do they need to learn to cope with uncertainty and unexpected challenges?
Sue has experienced both polar regions, is a Guinness World Record holder, intrepid adventurer on horseback, cancer survivor, author and proof that age is never a barrier to adventure. Victoria is a polar adventurer, three times Guinness World Record holder, mountain climber, marathon runner, author, businesswoman and just a ‘normal’ person.
We specialise in motivational & inspirational talks for schools and can cater for students of all ages. For older students we focus on helping them to recognise that they live in a ‘non-linear’ world; one where there will be constant change, they will fall over, they will need to change direction and there will be many times where they don’t know all the answers.
Whether it is our education system, social media or just societal expectations there is a pressure to follow a straight line - a path that travels through school, university, jobs and then into retirement. This is not realistic and unless we prepare for change and ambiguity and get used to being resilient the world will be a very difficult place in which to survive and thrive.
Book us now to inspire and prepare your students – every presentation is bespoke to your needs; we can adapt the message, the format and the length of the talk to suit your requirements. Talks can be delivered virtually or in person and can be delivered by Sue and/or Victoria. |

‘What a wonderful evening. Thank you so much for coming… you delivered a superb talk. Couldn’t resist sending you one quote from an e-mail I received this morning: I hope you don't mind me emailing you to tell you [son’s] comment as we walked to the car this evening "isn't it fantastic when you meet average people with amazing minds". It's just great when we get such inspirational people to come to visit.’ - Hordle Walhampton School, Lymington
‘I just wanted to thank you again for a fascinating and entertaining presentation today. It was a great pleasure to be in the audience and refreshing to hear someone speak about grit and resilience from a personal perspective. Very inspiring.’ - Cabot Learning Federation, Bristol
'[We] thought you were ace! Indeed so did all the students and the staff. In fact, most of the staff reflected on how dull and boring their lives are in comparison! Your style was humorous, natural and you had them eating out of your hand. Super interesting. BRAVO!' - Paragon School, Bath
‘Just wanted to thank you very much indeed for your presentations today. They absolutely hit the spot and the students were talking about them throughout the day. The fact that several came up at the end to talk to you individually said it all and the message about embracing challenges & hanging on in there when up against it was very empowering for both audiences.’ – Ralph Allen School, Bath
‘Thank you for the talk – they really enjoyed it. The girls were obviously inspired.’ - The Elms School, Malvern
‘Thank you for your inspirational talk this afternoon. You are an inspiration to us all! Thank you for sharing your drive and determination.’ – Prior Park College, Bath
